Pilgrimage Trail

The Golden Cap Team of Parishes includes the Jurassic Coast and the Marshwood Vale, the inland high point of Pilsdon Pen and even one Parish in Devon! Come and explore the variety by car, bike, horse or on foot. Roads are marked on the map; look on websites to find the West Dorset N2 Cycle Route and local rights of way, including Monarchs Way and Coastal Footpath.

The Trail starts at Whitchurch Canonicorum known as the Cathedral of the Vale. From there it's up to you what order you follow the list of churches shown. As a pilgrim slow down, take your time, discover a rhythm of walking, talking, looking, reflecting, praying.

Time to take stock, pray, dream! Make it special and take a picnic or enjoy a nearby pub - there's plenty to explore. When you come to each Pilgrimage Trail Church you'll find a welcome and a leaflet to guide you around the church and inspire. You are part of a living history of faith and discovery. Take a moment to let the trail become part of your life's story.  Pick up a leaflet to guide you at any of our churches
